Students from all age levels are invited to play with teams participating in the BAS Competition across A, B, C and D grade. All grades are played at the Ken Kay Badminton Stadium, except D Grade which is played here at St Patrick’s College.

The Badminton competition is held during Term 2 on Tuesdays, after school. All participants are transported to and from the venue on competition nights.

2019 SPC Tour of Ireland - Day 13 author: Julia Petrov

We made the most of our last day in London. Walking through the gates of Lord’s, we were ready for an extensive tour of the home of cricket. The view of the pitch from the Long Room, the Players’ Change Rooms with their detailed honour boards and the actual Ashes were of great interest to the boys but the highlight was the pod shaped Media Centre.

After a cracking breakfast in the beautiful Radisson Blu Vanderbilt, we all set off for Palm Sunday Mass at Westminster Cathedral. Funnily enough we bumped into the Loreto girls after Mass and exchanged travel stories. The boys then divided into groups and armed with maps and underground passes became serious sightseers in London. The Changing of t

We farewelled our talented bus driver, Peter Byrne, who has enlightened us with local history, entertained us with Irish humour and got us safely 1000 kms around the country. Following our arrival in London we came to truly ap

Day 9 – Maghera We awoke to a frosty but sunny morning and the day only got better. We were told that it snowed this time last week but the day was still and mild. After a huge breakfast the boys prepared their kit for the match against St Patrick’s College, Maghera. The first game kicked off at 10.30 with our boys playing three 20 minute thirds.

On the bus early, we travelled for an hour before we descended on a roadside inn for breakfast. The proprietors had never served so much breakfast to so many in such a short time. They did a marvellous job and congratulated themselves by clapping and cheering after the final service. Hunger sated, we drove north past the majestic Benbulbin, part of
